High-Temp Tent Vent for Diesel Heaters & Portable AC Systems
Adaptability
The tent vent’s outer plate accomodates a 4” hose without an adapter. To support a wide range range of heaters and air conditioners, adapters are available for hoses with diameters of 60mm, 2.5”, 2.75”, 3”, 3.57”, 5”, along with an optional 4” extension for specialized use cases. While 3” and 5” are the most popular in the US, additional options will be added based on customer requests. Depending on the orientation of your tent’s doors or its location relative to your diesel heater or air conditioner, you may have a different desired direction for your hose to leave your vent. To better accommodate every situation, the 3 inch 90 degree adapters are offered in two orientations — “length-wise” points the hose parallel to the length of the vent & “width-wise” points the hose perpendicular to the length.
Design
With a simple and durable multi-part construction, the mechanism of this vent sets it aside from the competition. The free-moving rotational ball gives the user ultimate control over the direction of airflow from their source of air. Precise design and printing allows for ease of movement and steadfast governing through the full range of forseeable temperatures.
All parts are created from ASA, which resists deformation at temperatures up to 230F for the matte carbon fiber-filled option and up to 212F for the standard satin option. ASA is UV and weather resistant, extremely durable, and the carbon fiber creates an amazing matte surface finish. The inner and outer plates are sandwiched around the rotational ball are secured with thumb screws; they provide toolless disassembly for cleaning, inspection, or storage.
Printing, threaded insert installation, quality checks, assembly, packaging, and shipping are all done in-house out of Southern Washington State; you can be happy knowing you are supporting a small American business with your purchase!
Matte
Matte parts are manufactured using a carbon fiber-reinforced ASA plastic, which has a slightly-textured, matte finish.
Carbon-fiber ASA is perfect for high-heat use and extended exposure to the elements.
Resists heat up to 230F/110C
Satin
Satin parts are manufactured using an ASA plastic, which has a smooth, satin finish.
ASA is perfect for high-heat use and extended exposure to the elements.
Resists heat up to 212F/100C.
A zip tie or hose clamp may be recommended depending on the fitment of your specific hose or if weather requires extra security. Hoses NOT included. With each order, the customer will receive all parts for the diesel heater/AC vent, including and limited to: inner and outer plates, inner rotational ball, knurled knob for the rotational ball, and the chosen adapter.
The maximum rated working temperature of this material is ~230F/110C for the matte material and ~212F/100C for the satin option. Do not exceed this temperature, or damage to the product may occur. Common diesel heaters (especially 5kw, 8kw, and larger heaters) can easily exceed 200 degrees on medium to high settings — be mindful of setting when using a higher-output heater.
